Chris Gray passed away 8th December 2006 just after 7 am in his sleep, 3 days after his 21st birthday.
Chris lived in Winlaton with his mam and brother thomas
Chris had been fighting leukemia since early 2005
Chris knew he didnt have long to live, but choose to keep that from everyone for weeks, the type of person chris was didnt want anyone worrying about him
It's not the same without chris being on msn the txts he sent to people
Chris was a passionate car fantic and spend many a evening on the various car forums around the North East.
In chris honour Blingmotors organised a memorial cruise with about 200 cars turned up shows the effect chris had on people
Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you
whatever we were to each other
that we still are
call me by my old familiar name
speak to me in the easy way
which you always used
put no difference in your tone
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together
pray smile, think of me, pray for me
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was
Let it be spoken without effort
without the trace of a shadow in it
Life means all that it ever meant
it is the same as it ever was
there is unbroken continuity
why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you
somewhere very near
just around the corner
All is well
RIP CHRIS

Well, well, well. 5 years have passed now, which means that Harry is also 5. Your grandad is on his way to keep you company up there and help you keep an eye on your mam and Tom.
We've just put up our Xmas decs (we always wait till after Harry's birthday) and are looking forward to our first Xmas in Essex. Georgie understands what's going on this year so we can't wait.
Hope you are chilling out up there.
Take care mate,

Hi mate,
Was chatting to your mum on facebook yesterday about the Hanson game and what a great time you made it for us both (and Harry who was a bump at the time).
And it's your birthday today, which as you know means it will be Harry's tomorrow. I really wish you'd got to meet him, but the text you sent when you were going through you final days down here meant a lot.
He's growing up to be a really nice lad. We both hope we do as good a job with him and his little brother George as you mum did with you and continues to with Tom. Harry is addicted to the wii at the moment, so will be delighted with some of the games he has for Xmas, to add to his arsenal of Mario Kart, Mario Olympics, Mario Winter........you seeing a trend here?
We don't put the tree up until after he has his Birthday so we'll wait till Tuesday for that.
Hope you like the annual updates on Harry, but we hope a piece of you carries on in him. Sounds a bit mental I know.
Anyways, keep looking over your family and I hope heaven is everything you wanted it to be.
Speak next year.
Ben
Happy Birthday Chris, how you doing up there, tree is up, what you think of it then ? - its the one you bought when you moved into the flat wtih Louise :-) Tom helped with it much more this year - growing up fast, wish you could see him, know he still thinks about you a lot. He has been playing on your old x box and hinting that he wants the new one for Xmas - of course I shall get him it :-) We didn't end up getting a dog after all, we went and had a look at the kennels a year ago and saw a few, no wonder you wanted to get one, so cute. Sadly Tom is allergic to them - we thought he may be as he was ill when he went to visit his dad but proved to be so when we went to stay at helens last Xmas - she got Norris last year then Uncle Dave got one too - you would have loved them both. Anyways son, have a few smirnoff Ice's up there for me and I shall have one for you down here, cheers. Love you, miss you loads xx
Happy Birthday son.
We got the Christmas tree up last night as we always do for your birthday, wish you were here to see it.
Looks like you are eventually going to get your way as you usually managed to do, when could I ever resist that smile. Remember you wanting a dog for Tom, you going to look at the kennels looking for one, buying the bowls in anticipation, I know you wanted to get one as a present from you to him but at the time I said no, sorry about that. Well we are gonna go to kennels today to have a look around and see whats there, I doubt the one you took a photo of will still be there though but we still have the bowls lol
Love you and miss you loads,Mam xxxx
Hi Chris,
I'm sure you'll be looking down on everyone, and I hope you take a second to look in on Harry who you selflessly text to congratulate his birth of during your last day with us. He's 2 and a half now and starting to play ice hockey himself.
Was looking at a few pics the other day and stumbled across the Hanson's photos. Superb night, so glad we could share that with you.
Keep watching down on your little bro, who is an absolute legend. He drew Harry a picture a year or so back which Harry still has. You can be really proud of the impact you had on his life.
All the best mate.
Ben
